I was looking to buy a house, but I decided real estate prices in Austin were too high for me, so I only rent an apartment:) As I searched I found a local Austin real estate website was nice, http:// www. hometoaustin.com. You can search the Austin MLS, and are interactive Google Maps to show where all the houses are for sale. In any case, good luck in your search at home!

You can search not only all the listings, but there are too many other resources. You can find a good broker, links to information about moving house, etc.

I used to use Austinrealpros.com site, an option to search for properties in the area in search of the tab.
I never really found a good MLS side when I was looking for a house, and how they shop in a very hot market at the time the MLS for us updated to see the house and on-going contract. Estate Agents get the initial information, we can only go through such a broker, if you are seriously looking.
Realtor.com is very good. The only thing better, with a vendor who can provide you speak messages directly from the MLS itself. Industry MLS strong access controls, so you need to use agents.
